THE GREAT NORTH AFRICAN
TOTAL ECLIPSE OF AUGUST 2027
With less than 2 years to go before the "Great North African Total Eclipse" of August 2027, Twilight Tours is pleased to share its preliminary plan offering the astronomical community the opportunity to see this extraordinary eclipse event, with a portent of clear skies, while traveling to a largely unexplored destination to see totality.
While specific dates and itinerary are currently still in work, we can share some general information about where our firm will be based for this unique astronomical wonder.
Our tour will be based in the country of Algeria, traveling along the Mediterranean Coastline, starting and concluding in the capital of Algiers. We will be heading to the west, several days prior to the eclipse on Monday, August 2nd . Along the way, we shall be making overnight stops to visit many ancient historical ruin sites, including Tlemsen,Tipasa, and Oran.
At our intended observation site, totality is predicted to last just over 5 minutes with the sun at a convenient 45° altitude, while situated towards the east at an azimuth of ~ 98°.
Most importantly, this group will be strictly limited to no greater than 50 participants, to promote a more intimate and interactive experience for our clients.
Please keep watching this site for more information to come!
